Ecocity World Summit 2019

Oct 7 - 11

The Ecocity World Summit is the longest-standing international Summit that addresses building cities in balance with nature.

World of Walas and Dudoc hosted a special  Field Trip on Oct 8, “Sustainable Urban Development: From Concept To Real-World Execution” with a rare opportunity to hear our CEO, Gerben van Straaten speaking on the topic. During the Main Summit, he left the stage with an energized audience, curious and impressed by his approach to urban sustainability.

We got to re-connect with many sustainability-driven community members of Vancouver, many of which had previously visited Dudoc. We continue to be impressed by the ideas and positive actions that our local community takes to transition to more sustainable and innovative solutions for our cities.

Our takeaway: We are going in the right direction. Yet, without ongoing participation, collaboration and fresh ideas that directly translate into action, we can hardly get there on time.
